So I have driven my 78 911 up and down the block three times. I had a ton opf oil. I decide to take the engine appart and reseal it (rocker shaft seals, main seal, new clutch, ect). Just got it back together and the oil leaks are gone,
. However, I have white smoke out the tail pipe. I shut it off it goes away, start it up it comes back, when you smell the smoke it stinks bad. So gents what could it be????????????

First, check that you don't have a serious oil leak dripping onto the heat exchangers, then I would check your oil level and make sure it is not overfilled, then take it on a 10 mile drive on the highway at night. I'll bet it's just oil that needs to burn off.

oil sliming the inside of the exhaust system. takes time to burn away. go out at night and lay down a smoke screen until it clears up. be sure it's not overfilled too.

Yea, the oil level is fine I cjecked while it was hot and running, it was actually a bit low, so I added 2 quarts. I also found that two of my spark plugs are not getting a spark, so cap rotor and wire I must get.
Cheers fellas James
