3.2 915 Guide tube wear & clutch judder
After replacing my clutch I have had bad judder in first gear. So bad it will jump out of gear, even on normal take-off. It's ok in reverse and pulling away in second you can give it plenty and no judder.
I gave it 500 miles with no improvment - actually it got worse. So today I pulled the motor and found nastiness inside the release (throwout) bearing. It is badly scored, and so is the guide tube. I have got a pic but it's from my phone so apologies for the lack of quality. There is a lot of fine metallic dust coating the inside of the cover plate as a result of the rubbing. I guess the bearing has been binding on the guide tube but funny thing is before assembly I checked the fit of the bearing over the tube and it was fine. I can't for the life of me figure out what's caused this. The only thing I didn't do was grease the guide tube but I'm not sure thats called for. (If it is........I'll get me coat )If I can get away with just a new guide tube and release bearing I'll be happy but if there's anything else I should look out for I'd welcome your response. ![]() ![]() (PS everything else fine, clutch fork not cracked, flywheel good, no oil contamination, engine/transmission mounts good , new cable, helper spring, spigot bush etc etc)

I'm not sure I believe that binding of that guide tube and throwout bearing can cause a judder ...
There may have been burs on the inside of the new bearing, and it may not be related to the judder!
