New Here

I bought my second Porsche (Well the First was a VW 356 speedster) about a month ago. 1977 911 "Grey Market" Targa. Black.

I have added Cup II rims, new rubber, whale tail and it is getting some new black paint as I type.

My question is, and I am by no means a Porsche purist, so forgive me in advance. Has anyone painted the red "Porsche" thing in between the rear tailights the same color as the rest of the car? I am thinking it would look good the same color with a Targa emblem.

Pictures, opinions?

Mike

Here are a few of my goodies (I build custom bikes)

If it is in good shape then keep it and havle some one fab a metal piece to fit in the same spot. The reflector costs $200+ and I bet you could sell it here...

MikeSAV911 - nice toys! You build to customer requests or do you fab according to your own ideas? Ifthese are 100% you, you are some chops ! Three very disticnt styles - a 40's, 50's and 60's style. That car is sweet as well but where is the Targa?

LubeMaster, I build them all how I want/invision and then sell them (or keep 'em) to whoever digs the style.

Anyone have any pics of a painted one? Just curious how it would look.

Oh yeah, I wont post a pic of the Targa until it is done.

ThX!

some pic with some chick draped on the car does score extra points...
biker chicks are also ok, doesn't really matter what they are draped on , car or bike, it's the chicks we're after.

Welcome - I've only been a Pelicaner (and P-car owner) a little over 2 weeks but these guys have taught me hundreds of things and made it fun along the way -- ask anything they can handle it easily!

The Targa bar on my 77 is painted white - not sure why but I will keep it that way.

Mike,

Please don't paint the Porsche emblem if it is an original. Find/fabricate a piece to fit in there (there should be some broken ones lying around) and sell the one you have to someone who was rear-ended. You should make money going this route.

Oh, nice bikes!!
