				 | Symptoms of an exhaust leak?
What are the typical symptoms of an exhaust leak? This morning when starting up the beast, I can hear a faint exhaust "puffing" sound around the right side of the engine (around cyl's 4/5/6). Haven't had a chance to poke my hand under there to feel for any leaks, but it certainly sounds like it. Something tells me those poor NA heat exchangers finally gave way and cracked. Didn't think they'd last TOO long at the power levels I'm running Either that, or one of the un-used spark plugs blocking the secondary plug holes in the head (heads are twin plugged, but only running single plug right now) has dislodged and there's a hole in the head where exhaust is leaking from! DOH! Need to get under there tonight and have a poke

Sound is the typical symptom, especially if it’s just a minor leak. Sounds like you’ve probably made an accurate diagnosis. Be careful poking around under there, exhaust can be HOT even on a cold engine. Try sticking a piece of paper or something similar in the area and see if it “blows in the wind” of the exhaust leak, so to speak.

HMMMMM PUFF PUFF PUFF PUFF PUFF....................... Could be pulled or broken head studs. Exhaust leaks in the system would sometime create a backfire on the over run. Does it backfire? | ||

I'm using ARP Racing head studs, so unlikely their pulled. She does occassionally do light backfires on decel, but not during acceleration.
