Can anyone guess what this does???
I have used this on my car for a few years.
I will post a CAD drawing of it when I convert it into a format which is able to be posted here. Can anyone guess what it does? Dangit...I see it now. Passive sway bar adjuster? Turn the wheel, and the sway bar loading increases.
I can convert CAD files if you need it done. |

so.. you have it set up to stiffen the sway bar (reducing body roll) as the wheel turns in more? Essentially you are increasing body roll when the car has the wheels pointed straight.
What is your thinking behind this? a more comfortable ride? less interaction between the front wheels while driving straight? (as we all know rarely is a road super smooth like some race tracks) |
Assuming a linear loading curve, the max anti-roll will be at full lock, left or right. Max dynamic loading would be on slow 90 deg. or hairpin turns (wheels are turned more), but on long sweepers where high velocity really loads the outside corner, the wheel is not turn very much...so less loading....

Perhaps you are trying to neutralize oversteer. As the tail starts to come around (increasing steering lock) the front bar stiffens and reduces oversteer.
However it would have the inverse effect during opposite lock correction...unless you go through center. |
