Ferodo....are they worth it?

I'm replacing pads and rotors this winter. For spirited street driving and light track work, are the Ferodos that Pelican sell worth it? I thought about the new BHP pad, but nobody seems to know anything about them, and they are quite expensive.

Thanks for your time.

Yes, but make sure you get the 2500's. Those are the ones you want if you are going to go on the track. The Ferodos are great cold or hot, and they don't make noise. The other performance or race pads are not what I would use on the street. They make noise and need to heat up to grab.

Price and performance favor the PF97's or the 25900 Ferodos, but the PF97's are more race pad than the Ferodos. The 97's need to heat up to grab. I've run them both, and for customers who want to leave the pads in for street driving, I install 2500's. The 2500s don't last as long at the track as the 97's, but the 97's don't work as well on the street...the two or on the fence, and lean toward different sides.

Thank you Souk for the reply.

I've heard 2500s are the ones to have. Do you have a source in the Chicago area or do you get them online? I'm having a hard time finding them on the net, but I have not tried to hard around Indy.

Thanks

I don't normally do so, infact I normally steer members towards our host's sight.

Just couldn't find the 2500's at Pelican.

i am aware of 3 "track-able" compounds, two of them are strictly track-oriented and the third does double as a nice street pad. since the track pads are nubmered 3000 and 3500, i'm pretty sure that means that 2500 is the dual purpose pad. my car came with them when i bought it and i thought they were great. took all the track heat just fine and, unlike pfc's 97's, they didn't squeal on the street. completely silent. initial stop was a bit slow (on the street) but after that each was fine.

pretty good pads overall

they (PP) could not identify what ferado pads they carried when i looked for the 2500 a few weeks ago. i ended up going raceshopper too. $128.00 for all four corners and i really like them, the pads that is. a bit more squeal than the 2000's, alot more dust, but happy just the same.

and after further research it is the 2000's pelican carrys, that being said, they might be able to order you a set of what you desire.
