1975 Carrera Targa. Sitting for over 15 years in dry storage. The owner wanted to much for the car (15K) to make bringing it back a worthwhile option.

As much as I hate to say it .. I think greed has factor in some these barn finds. I wanted to say this earlier.. but didn't until bob'sflat 6 posted. Some of these folks are waiting for these cars to be worth a million. Dan

Well let's help them out. When you encounter a guy that won't put the car in less, ah, entropic place, and won't sell, ask him if you can help put the car under cover. tell him it deserves to be protected - if only by a tarp.

weird coincidence

I saw this car about 3 or 4 years ago when i went down that road to look at a mk2 jag for sale. I, too, stopped and checked it out. I came on here and described the car and the wheels b/c I didnt know what they were. I never told the location. I had been thinking about it ever since. I went to VIR today for a bmw club race and was going to take a look at it again, but I missed the road and just kept on going. Imagine my surprise when I see this thread and a reference too the original thread that I somehow never saw either. Really bizarre! I couldn't bring myself to steal it either. The burned down house and the abandoned car just gave off a really bad vibe. I t was kinda creepy. Like somebody lost everything and just ...disappeared or something. Bad karma definitly went with the car - package deal.

Tooo strange though.

Allan

Couldn't some of you that found the cars basically abandoned at the side of a roadway take the car and file for an abandoned title? My uncle did that on a jeep a guy left at his house when he got arrested and put in jail.
