How does one take *good* pictures of Viper or Conda Green 911s?

I have a Conda Green 1970 911T for sale:

1970 911T Coupe, Conda (Viper) Green, SoCal, sharp!

The pictures of it with my digital camera make it look like a nasty turquoise. Can you change the settings on the digital or would a film camera do a better job? The color is much more stunning in person as many of you know...can anyone post pictures that truly capture this color?

Adjust the white balance in your digital camera. One of the preset white balance should do the trick.

Try taking additional pictures at sunset or near end of day. With the sun a little lower in the horizon, the car will come out a little more 'warm'. Right now, with an overhead sun, you get faded colors and very sharp shadows.

An additional idea is to wait for a cloudy day where you should get a more even color across the car, but it may be a little more blue than normal. You can easily tweak the color balance of either picture in Photoshop or other color programs to have it come out a little more natural.

Yup - AWB = auto white balance is a setting on most digitals, take it to manual and keep shooting, if all else fails, use an application like photoshop and tweak it manually.

It might help to shoot it later in the day or early in the morning as midday tends to wash colors out. Don't know what kind of camera you have but you could also mess with exposure, a little under exposure might help, or look into a polarizer filter to cut down on glare and reflections. Also make sure you are not getting glare or sunlight into your lens, a lens shade can do wonders, if you can't get a lens shade some run some black tape around the outside edge of your lens as a makeshift shade.

Hope that helps.

BTW, in some cameras the WB is actually labelled as different shooting modes/scenes/backgrounds like outdoors, indoors, scenery, etc.
