78SC Doorplate Sticker Question?

Does anyone know what this is? This is from my 1978 SC, driver side door panel. I've been told I have a Euro.

Thanks!

Interesting. I have a ROW 78 911 myself, and it doesn't have anything like that sticker on it. It does have some kind of owner identification sticker giving the original owner's name, I assume for anti-theft reasons.

To me, it looks like some sort of Euro Sticker indicating a specification of some sort.

Has anyone else seen a sticker like this?

BS AU (British Standard (bsi) Automotive) is a goverment regulatory body not unlike our D.O.T. They set saftey standards for glass, restraining systems, lighting, tires etc... (referenced by Australia nd NZ as well)

I believe E is for the "United Nations/Euro" counterpart.

IMO, this sticker shows the different levels of safety compliance for the various world markets.

Here's a link for an early car that has the BSAU-48 tag.

Rhd 2.2s

Here's a high level description of the BSAU 48 designation.

Standard Number: BS AU 48a:1971
Title: Specification for seat belt anchorage points
Publication Date: 1971/10/01
Withdrawn on: 1983/12/15
Replaces: BS AU 48:1965,
Legislation: Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1978
Descriptors: Seat belt anchorages, Seat belts, Private cars, Commercial road vehicles, Fixing, Holes, Dimensions, Static loading, Mechanical testing, Position

That very well could be. The BSAU 48 appears to have been withdrawn in '82. Perhaps this sticker references a retrofit of some type.
