Toolman,
You gots to join up with the RSR guys, man!
I did the Cider Run with them Sat. What a hoot!
These guys(and gals) are more track junkies than wine and cheese folks.
They are not afraid to beat on the cars, either. Check the website www.RallySport Region.com.
If that doesn't work, just go to the PCA site and find them there under the Zone 4 groups. They run out of Livingston County.

EDIT;You CA guys suck because you get to do runs all year long!!!

Yup.
Oct. 16 is the RSR color tour. Starting in Fenton going to Chelsea. I plan on going. It would be nice to have a nice Pelican showing at the rally.

I mapped out the main part of the route if someone's interested. I'm not sure how it will look on the BBS...

The 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' route:

• Mulholland Hwy south 4 miles to Stunt Rd.

• Left onto Stunt Rd, to where it ends at Schueren Rd (aka Saddle Peak).

• Right on Schueren Rd to Piuma Rd.

• Right on Piuma Rd to Las Virgenes (aka Malibu Cyn).

• Right on Las Virgenes to Mulholland Hwy.

• Left on Mulholland Hwy, past Kanan Rd. to Decker Canyon.

• Left on Decker Canyon, down to PCH.

• Left on PCH for a slow drive to Coogie's (23755 Malibu Rd., near the Ralph's) for an early lunch.

That's cool. Did you just print out a Google map and draw the route in? I've been looking for a mapping service (like Google or Mapquest) that will allow me to make a single-page print-out like that to hand out at the runs. But without a clear 'start' and 'finish' destination, it always becomes a headache.

Does anyone know of a better way to do it?

Yeah Jack, I pretty much did it by hand. If someone knows a better way, I'd like to know about it.

Chris uses a special mapping program that allows him to select specific routes.

Careful, on some of those roads you can look out your passenger door window and see your own tailights

Microsoft Streets & Trips lets you easily make custom maps & routes. I've been using it for years . . .

I'll put it this way: don't challenge an authentic well-driven Mini Cooper on that road unless you have a go-kart.

With Streets, you can use a highlighter tool or the measuring tool & freehand the route on the map. With both tools, you can move the points of the line, change hightlight color, move it forward & back of the roads etc.

The other method is to pick points on the map & let it trace a route & even give directions. Here is a screenshot of the directions tool.

Ian,

Thanks and good morning, I'll look into getting Microsoft Streets & Trips.

I liked your RennList web site too, not to mention your Cab...
