Cat bypass?
My mechanic has given me a list of used parts I need to find for my '80 SC inclusing a fuel pump, fuel accum, fuel tank, etc. One of these is a cat bypass. I have no idea what this looks like or what it might cost used, (or new). Could someone help me out? What kind of device is it anyways, a pipe of some sort?
Basically rust has contaminated most of my fuel system, yay. Thanks, nik |
A cat bypass pipe replaces the catalytic converter in the exhaust system.
In the case of a 911, it is on the driver's side with the outlet connecting directly to the muffler. If emission testing is not a concern, try to locate a Euro premuffler. It was found on the ROW 911's that did not require a converter. They are said to be worth a few hp. Check the Pelican catalog for prices or search the classifieds. |
Thanks, apparently the car will pass here without the CAT.
