Spring Plate Angle Question (they are different)
 

I was replacing the Neatrix busing so I could take my car to the shop to get the ride height set correctly (this was the last of the suspension busing to replace). The driver's side has been low since I got it at the rear wheels.

What made me scratch my head was there was a substantial angle difference in the spring plate. The angle was not what one would expect to find with the driver's side being low and the passenger's side being high.

The angle was much large on the drivers side (sorry, I do not have the exact difference), which should have had the driver's side higher than the passenger side.

I got this 1984 911 ROW Cabriolet about a year and a half ago. I know the car was in an accident before I acquired it. I am assuming the tub must no longer be strait? My other guess is there is some body flex because it is a Cabriolet?

I put everything back together the way it was and the shop now has it. Any guesses?

Were the spring plate halves centered? Your spring plates have a total of 1.5" of adjustment.

No. Drivers's side was already adjusted down. Passengers' side was adjusted up. Both to the max adjustments.

The front arm t-bar adjustment will play a part in this too. Go ahead with your install and take it to the shop is what I'd say.

You might have a little twist in the body but my guess is that the torsion bars on all sides were not indexed properly by a previous owner.

Another possibility would be a dead rear shock on the drivers side that was compensated for by adjusting the springplate angle upward. Not what one should do but I have seen some really bizarre things done by misinformed people.

Another possibility might be a twisted torsion bar. Unlikely, but possible, I suppose.
