Stripped out mount that holds my H4's

I know about the poor design of the H4 fit on the 911. Been dealing with this issue on the driver side. It does not seal correctly on the top. There seems to be about an 1/8th inch gap. Come to find out that the female part on the car is stripped not the screw and will not tighten. Now what? And how do I correct the fit on the top?

use one of the clips (not sure of the name) that clips to the mounting point (female one that is stripped). The clips are used on the tail lamp and on some interior pieces so they should work for you.

Sorry, not sure what you mean about the clips.

This happened to me -

Take the mounting screw and to to the hardware store to find a nut to match it. Find a body shop or a metal fabricator and drive the car over to get the old mount (which has a nut welded to it) ground down and get the new nut welded on. I had a guy do it right on the car with a welding blanket protecting the paint below. Zap it with primer and paint and you'll be good to go.

I tried the tinnerman nut / carriage bolt route, didn't work, tried the magic thread repair (permatex garbage) definitely a waste of time.
this was the only solution.

EDIT:-The upper mount recieved some lovin' with a pair of vice grips and a hammer. Also, look at the headlight where it contacts the fender - see those support wires that criscross and hold the whole assembly together? (Bicycle spokes?!) - a few were terminating right where the fender lip and headlight contact- so I had to move them to different locations. Check this as well.

good luck.
