Fuchs numbers questions

Hello: Looking at a set of 16" 7's and 9's from a turbo but the number on the 9 seems odd:

961 362 115 ASI 062

Is this a correct number for a Fuchs 9x16 wheel ?

Thank you. SmileWavy

No, AFAIK, there was never a Fuchs wheel with a "961" number. There were "951" numbers from a 944 Turbo, and the 7x16" 944T Fuchs has a number of 951.362.115, so maybe there is some confusion on the part number. A 930 9x16" should be 911.362.119.

The AS o62 appears often and is likely the alloy of the wheel.....the person "reading" the number is mixing up these two "lines" on the wheel.

Look again...and sort

Thanks Wil:
I cannot see the numbers; they are sent to me by E-mail.
Something is screwy here because the latest is that the 9's have numbers that have been stamped over.
The claim is still that they are J9's but the cast numbers 951 362 115 have been stamped over to make them 911 362 119.
The first number would make them 7's but the doctored , stamped number is supposed to make them 9's. Hmmmm!
I have asked for a clear picture of the spokes showing the screwy numbers and the 16 X J9.
We'll see.

Maybe they were originally 7's that have been widened to 9's by welding in a 2" band.

That's a stretch (couldn't help it ;)). Anyway, widening would be obvious. This is all weird. Someone is reading numbers and telling the other they have been stamped over. I think I'd pass on this one.

I agree that these have been "made" into 9's.
Received a close-up of the numbers and it shows that they were 7's originally.
There are many Fuchs wheels out there that have been widened; but that has to made clear to a potential buyer.

Just insist on a pic of the back, this is what you need to see
