mini update Engine drop, backdate heat, paint and AN fuel lines with PHOTOS

Decided to drop the engine to detail, redo some fuel lines for piece of mind. I changed some soft lines on the chassis which were buried beneth the tranny crossmember. Also, I'm addressing the dreaded Carrera fuel lines. All high pressure lines are going to AN. I had a local hydraulic shop make adaptors between the metric hardware and AN. I pick those up this morning.

Also, changed seals, vacuum lines, breather lines, fuel injector seals, and cleaned up and refreshed the engine tins, installed backdated heat, swapped out correct coupe motor mount (to replace the Cabriolet). I'm sure I'm leaving out some mischellaneous tasks, but those are the highlights.

It has been a busy week!

Engine goes back in tomorrow AM.

Guys,
Thanks for the kind words. I did powder coat the strap. Ideally, I would have CAD plated it. Didn't want to wait for it.

I love 3.2's with backdated heat. They are such a pretty engine.

Nice work!

Jeremy,
I modded the stock tin so I could adapt the back dated heating. Basically, I cut and shortened the stock tin and added holes for the piece that allows the flexible hoses to pass through.

Also, I fabbed a plate to fill the AC bracket hole and the Carrera heater hole. They aren't brilliantly crafted to look factory, but they will do the job and hold up under reasonable scrutiny.

Thanks for the interest!

Doug

Man! I would love to do the same but I *KNOW* that the "Well, while I've got it out .... " syndrome would kick in and eat me alive.

Nice work.

Very nice...I can appreciate the time spent as I have done many of the same things.

One thing I would be appreciative of is if you could provide more detail on your heater motor delete/bypass setup...like where the left side fan takeoff piece was obtained, wiring changes, etc. That stupid fan is about 10 lbs and I wouldn't mind losing it...

Thanks-
BG

I'll take some photos this weekend and give you some details. I bought the pieces from our very own Thom Fitzpatrick.
