2.7rs Engine Numbers
I have seen an engine for sale on Ebay UK and the engine number is preceeded by an AT.
Does anyone know what these stand for? |

Is this something that could be done by a specialist or must it have been a porsche dealer?

I think it must have been done by a porsche dealer. They would have taken an unmarked case and punched in the numbers off the original case. The case on my coupe has a 1974 engine number while the casting marks and internals clearly identify is as later.
