What does a PPI consist of?
What does (or should) a PPI on a 911 consist of? I did a quick search and didn't find an answer.
Also, what is the going rate for a normal PPI on a 911? I'm looking for specifics. Check for rust, look at condition of suspension bushings, etc. Basically a checklist of a complete PPI. Thanks for the help, -Scott |
Top to bottom. If anything is worn or old, should be noted..
Also some have the valve covers pulled off to check for broken head studs. Some also do a comp. test. 1.0 ppi 1.5 with comp. 2.5 hours to do all the above |
In addition to the suggested compression test you'll want a Leak down test as well. Have them document the results of each.
You want the body and other "non-mechanical" structures inspected by an expert who is very familiar with the 911 as well. He'll should be able to read the history of the car like rings on a tree. BTW, a carfax is a nice added touch as well. |
From one of our own, Matt DeMaria.
