Ruf muffler anyone?
Has anyone of you'll tried the Ruf muffler? Yes it retains the stock look but apparently they did something to the inside of it. If it's good for the yellowbird than surely it must be some good. Anyone?

Sameer, the Yellowbird would have used a custom muffler which would have had a twin inlet configuration. It won't work on your single turbo motor.
As for single inlet RuF mufflers, you could probably get better performance from a FabSpeed 930 Muffler. The RuF muffler was probably designed in the 80's for their BTR cars. The only reason you'd want a RUF muffler nowadays is for bragging rights, or to replicate a RuF car to the nth degree. There are probably much better aperformance alternatives around (e.g: FabSpeed, GHL, Borla etc).

My other alternative would be Fabspeed and wat was I thinking, yes the CTR1 is twinturbo. Stupid me. Just wanted to hear what you'l had to say on the Ruf muffler as no one really has said much recently about it...thanks.

My brother in law has a RUF exhaust the one that was spec'ed on the 80's BTR.. it's a great sound. not sure if it adds anything to the HP standings. but it's nice

I got one (the twin-double outlets) on my '84 930 ... sounds (and looks) great. I think is a Bischoff (sp?) muffler modified by Ruf.

i think once you got yourself a yellowbird, whether one muffler makes 5 more hp over another will be pretty irrelevant... ruf muffs look great and sound even better

Who knows whether the delta is 5 or 15??
You can depend on ruf - everything they make will be well engineered -- but that does NOT mean it was engineered for your engine... contact them and see. Thre is a lot of dyno info on the Monty also.
