Cool Dist cap and rotor after 10K

I just replaced the distributor cap and rotor on my '80 SC as part of my yearly tune up. They have been on the car for a year and have gone about 10,000 miles. And, by the way, I am using an MSD 6A ignition unit with the plugs (Bosch copper) gapped at .040 of an inch.

Notice that the contact end of the rotor is barely discolored and that the contacts inside the dizzy cap are blackened but not eroded away. So much for the "excessive wear and tear" theory!
