964 daily driver?
I have been looking at used M5's. great cars and I might still get one. but thing I started thinking, what about a used 964? As I have a cab, it would be a coupe. I could get one and make it into a RS overtime, not too rare as to be a big deal to park outside.
what do you guys think?

yes please.
Seriously though, I don't see why not. As long as you aren't carrying huge loads of people or cargo, it'd make a fine daily. Get a C4 and have it be even more practical. Just make sure the problems (if any) have been addressed.

I can get one for half the cost of the M and I have a basic knowledge (no flames those who have helped me!) about these cars so I figure I am ahead.
wouldn't the C4 be more prone to mechanical issues?

I loved the one that I had (90), great car for a daily driver, I put over 80 miles a day on it. Had cams and exhuast and a chip and went pretty well. Even with aftermarket suspension (bilstien H&R) it was great as an daily driver. I am one of the few who like the 964 bumper treatment, and would love a 964 RS type car.

Never mind the Beamer - if a 964 is the alternative.

I've moved from a M5 to a 964 and i'm finding it great for daily driving.
It's not as comfortable with the harsh ride and the more exciting handling but puts a smile on my face every time i drive it. |

I love the 964, more than the 993, and plan on adding one to the garage when my wife's car is paid off next year.

get a C 2 , 5 Speed to match your Future Plans for the RS style .
A c4 can give you a lot of Headaches in regards to the complicated 4 wheeldrive system , the blackbox for the 4WD/Brakesystem alone is almost 5000 $ today ( new ) . And it is over 200 Pounds heavier than a C2 Harald |
