Trusted machine shop to modify '72T oil filter console?

Well, I took the plunge today and ordered a full Carrera cooler and hard line setup from Chuck Moreland's Elephant Racing. Nice guy, talked me through the ins and outs of installation.

The only major caveat to installation looks like getting my oil filter console machined out for a thermostat. There's no one local that I trust to do this correctly and/or quickly. Anyone know of a shop that's done this and can turn it around in a reasonable amount of time?

Alternately - anyone got a '72S console they want to trade or sell me?

Dave,

I am sure there are others - but try Jerry Woods Enterprises. I know Jerry has done many and furthermore I would trust him to do my own.

Dave, I looked for a year and finally found a 72S console--it was very hard to find.

I hear TRE does the conversion.

BTW, tell me what you're doing. The hard line kit, RS cooler/spoiler/air dam and what else?

Jerry Woods/SMART Racing has mine

Guys, thanks for the info. I will contact Dave B. and see what his thoughts are. Should I wait until the thermostat arrives, to send them both out?

Bill, this kit is for my mostly-original '72T restoration. However, I built the engine way too hot to run coolerless. I have a pile of Aeroquip hose and a Mocal cooler and thermostat, but after looking at how much work I've done on this car to give it an original character, and talking to several people with reservations about the Mocal setup, I decided to go with Chuck's hard line kit, custom hoses for the '72, and the Carrera cooler fender-mount kit.

Keep us posted on this. I have a hot running 72T for which I am also looking for a solution.
