73 sunroof wind deflector hinges

The left-most hinge on my sunroof wind deflector has snapped. This is a very small piece. Where can I source a new one?

Its all one assembly (left wind deflector) PN 90156407305; Pelican shows it is still available from Porsche for a cool $333.75 each. The part number for the B3.9 x 9.5 lense head sheet metal screws used to secure the deflector is 90014500902; also available special order through Pelican for $1.78 each. You might check with Parts Heaven and other slavage yards for a used deflector. Jim

wowsers! thanks for the part numbers. so $335 gets me just the left side? is anybody doing a sunroof delete this week?

it looks like the hinges swivel on a rod, do these dis-assemble at all? I know sometimes parts can only be ordered as a complete assembly, even though they can be dis-assembled into component parts.

If just the hinge pin broke, given the expense of a new deflector I would attempt to fabricate a new pin. If one of the hinge leaves fractured then that would be a lot more work but almost anything can be fixed give enough time and treasure. Jim

You might also put an add in the classified here. It seems like I have seen those parts a few months ago. Maybe do a search

What are all the racers doing with these items when they remove the sunroofs from their cars?

I might be doing one. Keep in touch and I should know early in the week. Or I most likely have just the hinge part you need.

my deflector has a broken hinge, it seems like a common problem, let us know how you make out!

Good luck, it seems you may have found a source!
