Where is this oil coming from....

I cannot locate the source of the oil leak and am afraid that dropping the engine may be next to find this sucker.

The rocker shaft ends are dry, the valve gaskets and nuts are dry, yet after driving the car and letting it sit over night, I get 1 drop. (pics)

Help...it's killing me here....

Drop just below #3 Cyl.

kqw,

I think Brother is right. Mine looked the same as your pics, and I had the same question as you. I looked at the top of my engine behine the throttle body, and sure enough, it showed signs of a very minor leak. I went ahead and did a partial engine drop....

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_partial_engine_drop/911_partial_engine_drop.htm

...and replaced the oil pressure sending unit, thermostat o-ring, oil breather plate gasket, and oil breather hose... did it all yesterday.

I highly suggest the partial drop, it's rough getting back there. I took as much off the top of the engine as possible before getting back there... airbox, MAF, throttle body, etc...

I cleaned the top of the engine around those parts for future diagnosis of top side leaks...

Best of luck...

Jojo

The top of the engine is completely dry....

I pulled the shroud piece to the left of the fan housing and peered inside and the top of the Cyl. barrels are dry also.

Are you saying that the breather plate may seep where it's not visible from looking at the top of the engine?

There is a gasket on the breather hose cover, but if you removed the shrowd, you should have found some evidence.

still vote for rocker shafts...if you do not have seals you will have some sort of seep/leak there
