just purchased
I'd like to thank everyone for all the valuable info I received through this site. I just purchased a 88 cab. Red, black top and tan interior. Car has 70K original miles, just had valve guides replaced and had total top and bottom rebuild, including new clutch. Car is in excellent condition for it's age. Car has chip, headers, B&B exhuast, and last but not least; was rebuild at 10:3 to 1 ratio, whatever that means. If anyone knows what that means, please let me know. Car is very fast, and shifts very well. Could someone give me an idea of what my horsepower is now? I know it's hard to estimate without putting it on a dyno, but if anyone could give me a ball park, it would be helpfu. I will post some pics this weekend. Once again, thanks.

10.3 : 1 is the European version compression ratio ( US cars were closer to 9.5:1). A stock Euro car was listed as 231 hp or so... with your mods, you're making maybe 245....at the crankshaft. Maybe a bit more.

Billy, I just finished reading all of your posts. You've done your due diligence and spent some time in selecting a car. Congrats.
(I took my smart aleck comment out. Once again, congrats) Last edited by Zeke; 12-29-2005 at 05:23 PM.. |

actually, my wife used to roll her eyes when I even spoke of a 911, but after I took her for a ride and she heard that engine scream at about 5K rpm's, now she's a porsche lover. This has to be the best Xmas present I had since I was a child. Thanks again.
