VIN #*issue*....
My car's got multiple VINs.........imagine that! I bought it under the impression that it was car WPOABO910ES120113. Under the hood, just above the spare is the code WPOZZZ91ZES120113. God knows I'm not the first guy to buy a gray market 911 -- it is registered, passed smog and is my daily driver. I need some help from the experts out there - do I have a Canadian 1984 3.2 liter coupe? (with the 231 horsepower motor)? Just below the fan shroud is a code on the block 64E00326. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I just had the top end rebuild by Dr. John Walker and the car runs like a dream and has fierce top-end power. I paid 10k for the car....should I be concerned?
thanks, Sizzle

This has been discussed her before. As I recall, all thise ZZZZ's are part of the "generic" VIN, THEN, when the (almost) finished car gets pointed toward a particular geography (USA, CAN, ROW, etc..) Those specific letters are put in the final code, replacing the ZZZ and the Z.
All the rest odf your VIN is the same, so it's pretty certain tht nobody has altered anything, IMO... That's what I recall, others may have more, or different information for you... ![]() Don't worry, post some pix of your car - you do have one of the world's top mechanics taking care of you, it seems.. ![]()

Yep, very common and not a problem.
The chassis is sometimes stamped with the ZZZ number before they know what country it's going to. |

The chassis is indeed generic for all countries and will show ZZZ in the trunk floor area for the "middle" characters ( at least for the air-cooled versions...examples being SC's and 3.2 Carreras).
The door jamb sticker and the driver's windshield post should show the "correct" middle numbers for country-specific ( USA) cars. Wil
