What is this engine?
What can you tell me about this engine from this pic? Besides it's a bit dirty.

Hmmmm letsseeee...
Early MFI with magnesium stacks 1969-1971?? Crummy 5 blade fan from mid 70's era No carrear tensioners Green E type engine shroud Air cleaner same as my 70 S MFI Parts missing from front of MFI pump Non standard fuel filter (not for MFI AFAIK) Bosch Distruibutor - no vacuum |
It's s'posedly from a 1970 911E. Does that mean, mfi? What else can you tell me is wrong with this engine?
|
I would have guessed 1970 E, based on the MFI stacks & air cleaner, but that's the wrong damme fan!!! POS that is not adequate to cool the engine, should have 11 blades.
Get the engine type number & serial number off the right rear of the case, down close to the engine tin and right of the fan housing. It should be a 911/01 or 911/04 engine type as a 70E. Post those here and we can tell you what base engine is there.. |
