Zenith carb adjustment question
I playing with the mixture on my 71 T 2.2 with zeniths and was wondering how many turns out on the mixture works for you guys? They were at about 3 turns out and opened them up one more full turn and it seems to run much better, but is this too rich?

If your idle mixture screws need to be out that far, there's a good chance you would be better off with slightly larger idle jets. The idle circuit also controls the mixture on transition to the mains but the mixture screws primarily control the idle mix. If you need to back the screws out more than 3 turns to get a good transition and part throttle mix, you will likely be too rich at closed throttle idle. If you do a search on "zenith adjustment" or "zenith calibration" here, you'll find some good stuff.
