9 X 16 Fuchs Identification Query
I have just purchased a set of 7 & 9 X 16 Fuchs with as new Dunlop SP Sport 9000, 205/55 and 245/45.
I have fitted them today, and have a query on the number stamped in the 9 X 16. It is 9J X 16 but has the stamped number of : 911 362 116 AS1062. I thought 9 X 16 were 119 ? The wheels look great, have the 'sunken' lug nut holes and look right with the 245/45 tyres. Is this a case of the factory putting the 9 in upside down to the casting machine ? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1128876857.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1128877112.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1128877127.jpg |
Yep- I think its just a stamping error (I can't find the 116 part number anywhere)
THey're definitely real 9x16's so I wouldn't worry. |
Weird.
I would have thought they were 16x6 centers widened to be 9's, but the countersunk lug nuts (and the part number stamping) prove otherwise. Also could have been 951 16x7 or 16x8 widened, but again the part numbers prove otherwise. Must be a stamping error like ubiquity said. |
Was the other wheel stamped this way?
I agree with the others and believe this is an stamping error. They look like nice wheels. |

Will remove and look and let you know. |
I checked the other wheel today at it is a 119, so the other must be a stamping error (does this make it valuable ? - I know it doesn't, but image if it was the only one in thew world like that!)

I once had a 6" x 16 Fuchs stamped as a 15"....most certainly it was a 16"....
