mahle piston and cyl. set
I was asked to sell for a friend a complete set of six pistons and cylnders. AT first I thought they were the MAX MORITZ 98 mm
but after close measurment they are a 95 mm jugs. Does anyone have a list of Mahle part #s and what the go in. The pistons look almost like my Carrera's. Keith Epperly 87 slant nose turbo look carrera cabriolet I also will have g-50 gear sets, 915 gear sets and the nicest set of escar-go race headers I have ever seen used. not trying to advertise in the wrong place just need help with pistons and cyl's. |

Post a picture. Are they 22 or 23mm wrist pins? There should be Mahle numbers on the crown and up under the skirts. these are for height and weight groups.

Nothing to add, but I would be very surprised if those pistons came in those boxes. My guess is the piston/cylinder set that are on the car now came in those boxes.
What kind of car does your friend have? Tom |

The race car he just sold, was a 77 tub with 993 rear suspension, Bob Farmer 3.8 ltr. and front coil overs is all I can remember. He and a "bone" Dr. from afton, OKL. used to race
together about two years ago. Keith Epperly 87 slant nose turbo look carrera cabriolet |

THe pistons look like stock 3.2's.
I assume the cylinders are without fire ring groove? Kind regards David |

no they have upper cylinder gaskets. And they are machined into the top of the jug like for o-rings. Could these be from a 3.3 turbo? The other car my friend has is a Ruf Turbo 3.4 and I wonder if these were left over from that conversion.

The pics show two different sets of pistons. Please take and post close up images of the top of the cylinders, base of the cylinders, top of piston, side of piston showing the wrist pin area and bottom of piston.
Then we can help!
