Lee Rice gets a ride in yellowbird

This month's Pandemonium (Orange coast chapter of PCA newsletter) has an article written by Lee Rice that decribes his ride in yellowbird with some guy names Alois Ruf driving
I don't know if it would be cool to copy the whole article, but maybe they will let me slide with just a little snippet:

"I’ve driven Ruf’s 996 R-Turbo, and Jim Poste’s 993 Turbo-R and Roland Roth’s competition Silver State Turbo-R. They are brutally fast and quick! Could I be….disappointed? One of Alois’ employees, Tristan Bayless, was scouting the road ahead in his red Porsche 3.2 Carrera. He guided Alois to the on ramp and traffic.
Well, I was having a good conversation about Ruf engines and hardware and Alois says , “Well lets see what we can do..” I’m thinking; Where!?!
Suddenly: GROWL-ROAR WHOOOSH we’re E X P L O D I N G Forward! Shift, GROWL-ROAR-WHOOSH, (my neck hurts, my eyes, I swear, are flattening in my eye sockets).
Then BRAKING like nothing I have ever experienced. Alois smiles and laughs with me! We are just like high schools kids playing with the latest new trick hot rod part we put on an engine. It is so amazing, the only emotion that comes out of us is laughter!!Alois slows and says, “lets see how it is now?” Yikes! Hang on. Bang-Whooosh goes the wastegate and Yellow Bird rips concrete and rubber out the back!..."

Sorry if it's just a tease, but I didn't want do anything that Lee wouldn't like, I see him often at OCR events and consider him a friend.

I figured it would be Ok but i wasn't sure and don't want to step on toes.
The entire newsletter is available for download on the internet without restricition AFAIK, but I think it's supposed to be just for PCA/OCR members. Not sure on that one either.

For those who don't know Lee, he makes a living working on high HP porsches with turbos being his specialty.
His car is a beast and blazing quick, so any praise like this from him is special indeed. He has an intercooler as big as a picnic table on top of his motor

Okay, I am NOT looking for trouble here, but I have always associated that name (Lee Rice) with that famous shop with the MM initials? Am I corn-fused, or what?

Nope, Leslie F. Rice (Lee) has his own company,
Rice's performance
Secializing in 911s and 930s
Repairs, overhauls, upgrades.
By apointment only
e-mail riceturbos "at" aol.com
(the above taken from his card)

He writes the technical article for Pandemonium, and also some for panorama.
He's the technical advisor for OCR also.
I have no idea if he has a history with MM or not, but I can say he does not share the same reputation or level of quality. He's pretty much regarded as Orange county's version of Bruce Anderson.

You're thinking of Lee Marks.

You are right. Sorry. I think it was Marks that used to hang on that "other board" and spout flat six wisdom..

Lee is definitely a great guy, and a gentleman. He believes if you don't have anything good to say then keep your trap shut. He has nothing to say about MM.
