Project 993 ... part 2
I know this wont draw as much attention as my last couple of builds, (especially the '72 RSR), but here is the latest project, the 993, on the frame rack getting pulled. After we measured, it was actually a very minor hit and wont require much tugging. It moved @ 1-3/4" on the passenger side and 1/2" on the drivers side, at the rail about 7-8 inches back. Not bad at all !!

OK so whats the plan for this one???
|
Back date a 993?
|
How about: keep the stiff unit body, but cut the wt. by 50%...
|
Sweet, looking forward to this one http://forums.pelicanparts.com/ultim...ons/icon14.gif Any before / original carnage pics?

Will the ceramic rotors from a 996/7 fit your car?
You removed all the accessories, heat, carpet, undercoating, etc.? How about a nice lightwt. Wankel engine??? |
How about a 993 GT2 look in full race trim?
|
Yup, almost all of the accessories are gone.
My current list of weight reduction consists of: No radio, heat, sunroof or rear seats. RS carpet over metal, rs lower dash, and rs door panels. Spare, tools, one wiper, washer fluid bottle, front and rear bumper support gone. Recaro shells mounted to the floor. Wiring harness relieved of unecessary wiring and connectors. Engine harness converted to tefzel wire and raychem jacketed. Carbon hood, sunroof plug and decklid. Would be nice if I could afford some of those super expensive brembos to save some weight. |
