Engine experts and oil leaks

I did a partial drop and was not able to determine what was causing the leak. I thought it might be the oil light swotch or the crankcase breather. WHat I founds was that if I cleaned up the area oil kept coming back from under the tin as can be seen in the picture. The notch would just keep getting wet.

Is there a chance you have a pool of oil further up that is leaking out the back? Did the oil pool with the moteur off or after you restarted it? Were you able to torque everything back to spec?

Did you replace the o-ring around your "internal" oil cooler?

Just beyond the tin is the bell housing is it possible that this is left over oil from when the rear main was replaced?

I did not check last night after getting it all back together I will tonight.

The oil cooler would be off to the right is it possible that its the cause?

Thermostat O-ring.

I thought of that too. Went thru records mech fixed that at the same time as the rear main.

My thermostat o-ring was replaced with a rubber one that expired in less than 10K miles. Ya never know...

The oil light switch, plate over the t-stat and the area around the breather plate were dirty but dry. The breather hose which is laying on the tin over the oil cooler is wet but seems solid. The oil ran from under the tin that goes around the curve right over the tranny. Is it possible that the oil cooler is leaking and sraying up to that area?
