just signed up after many years of viewing the threads, and I figured I would start by asking some newbie question. I am grabbing a 1972 911 this weekend that has been bastardized, somewhat. The body has been altered, and it has turbo wheels on it, The seller says that they were on it and that he's not sure how to check, I know he's not going to climb under the car and look at the back of the hub. But when I get there to pickup the car are there any ways that I can tell, Aluminum, steel parts, casting , welding marks, taking the wheel off is an option when i get there, I don't want to buy a car thinking its got stuff I can use then to find out that they are cheap knockoffs, And are the 16" turbos wheels really worth anything, Second are the 72 tubs? I really appreciate any help. I will be listing some of the parts from the car after I get it but am buying it for some parts i need. Listed a picture of my 87 3.2, just so You know I'm a prosche guy, and just to list it, proud papa, hehe

I think if you search, you'll find the widths and offsets for the Turbo wheels. Our very own moderator, Bill Verburg has painstakingly compiled such information so it is available at moments such as this. The only true way is to look at the part #, but you could probably measure the widths and offsets with some confidence.
Search under member: "Bill Verburg" and wheel offset and I bet you find what you need. Nice looking car! Doug
