Top switched to manual mode
 

I dont know why the Germans seem to have so many problems designing and manufacturing power tops. My 325i, Moms 560sl, and most Porsche Cabs I have looked at have just had the mechanism repaired, or they need a "minor repair". Last Cab I looked at had shavings in the rear seat area, On 87 Cab I had looked at the mechanic stated it was on borrowed time. He advised unhooking the automatic on the car, as when they fail they damage the top. Just operate the top manualy. My question is can the 964, or 993 be operated in manual mode by unhooking the linkage? Any one operating in this mode?
