Here it is.....first pics of my 77 911
I just finished the bodywork and paint Thursday. I am very pleased with the outcome. As I have stated before, I am not a Porsche purist or a Porshaphile, I go by what looks good to me and what I think makes for the most visually pleasing vehicle.
This is a 1977 911 Targa. I bought it on Ebay from a cat in Mass in late July, had it shipped and got it here in mid August. It was in need of lots of TLC (in the form of bodywork, paint and just lots of general detailing). It was a stocker when I got it and updated the look a little with some small details. It runs great and turns heads. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey.
I feel the same way about making the car what you want it! Colour is Blue....? Really sharp. Was thinking about the same thing for my '71 911T Targa. Nice to see a picture of what I have been thinking of! |

Looks Awesome, Mike. And I feel the same way as you, when it comes to making it what you want.

Thanks....it is actually your basic black.
I did paint it myself, I have a friend that owns a paint and bodyshop that I use for car projects and my bike projects. |

Awesome!
It's amazing to me how a 1977 automobile can look so dang modern. That car could be introduced as a 2006 model year and be totally acceptable.
Beautiful job! What wheels are those? Love those Targas! ![]()

Looks nice.
Did you flare the fenders and put the euro bumper pads ? |

God loves Targas, innocent children and dogs. This is why your Targa (and mine!) found good homes. Enjoy, and pick up the pace a little.

K9Torro......I'm over in Savannah.
The fenders were flared when I got it, it is a euro car, imported from Germany in the mid-80's by a private individual. I just got done powdercoating a bunch of the small trim pieces this afternoon. I love this thing. Mike |

Is it a euro Carrera ?
They came from the factory with flares where a regular 911 in 77 would have had a narrow body. |

Very nice looking ride, I'm partial to black! If I may suggest.......loose the add on fogs, a little out of place, IMHO (No offense)

Don't know. Judging from what I found when I stripped the paint and gobs of bondo from the rear quater panels, I hope Porsche would have done a better job, only kidding, no these were welded on by someone else.

I personally think the fog lamps make a huge difference for the better. I really had to get rid of those horrible rectangle fog lamps.... they were HUGE and very dated. They look out of place, but then so do 17" rims on a 1977 car. Kinda why I put them on there.

Got the rims off ebay.... I beleive they are Cup3 from a 996...but could be wrong. Spacers are from Ernie's alloys in Miami.
