How Much for 911 SC/3.2 transplant?
I am planning to sell my 1980 911SC with a 1986 3.2 Motronic/915 transmission. A few details below:
Good paint - not show quality Very fast and responsive. 83K miles but this is not accurate. It does leak - a few drops when engine is hot. shifts very well on all gears except when cold, you have to play with clutch to drive off of 1st gear. Brand new: tires, shocks, dist. cap and rotors, brake pads. couple of cracks on dash. tear on sunroof headliner. stone chip on windshield. interior in good condition otherwise. no rust. A/C, sunroof, power windows, power locks - all electric works. Is $14K too much ? All input very appreciated. ![]()

Sounds like a nice car. $14k is not too much for a nice car.

I paid less, but $14K is a decent price. Can the oil leaks be fixed before selling? Mine is leak free, and that was a big deal for me to purchase it.

I think the cost of the conversion equals the cost to reseal the motor provided that's all it needs, replace the windshield and buy a good dash. Someone is out there looking for your car. Just advertise it as many places that you can think of.

I paid $11K for my 3.2L SC a few years ago, but yours looks nicer. Is that a front mounted oil cooler? $14K sounds right.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I'd pay a few extra $$$ for a documented enthusiast car over a lot queen.

fastteo - Did you also place it on the national PCA web site?
donstevens - Last time we spoke I thought we might be taking the 911 RSR back to next years LeMans classic, now it looks like we won't. Big bummer. Steve
