Is there a thermostat gasket?

I'm working from "the book" and up the point of installing the thermostat. The book doesn't make any mention of a gasket for the thermostat and the gasket kit is all bundled together, so its hard to say what gasket goes where...or if I'm missing any.

Is there supposed to be a gasket (aside from the red oring onthe thermostat body) when installing on a US 3.0 NA engine?

thanks

Had an 83 targa a long time ago..I can remeber pulling the thermostat for some reason, maybe leaking? One hell of a tight job. Don't remember any gasket, but an O ring for sure. There is Only one way it goes back. Don't put it in backwards.
