Where does this wire go??

Noticed this when checking my oil today. Couldn't find any obvious place for it to attach. Please help if you can.

Thanks!

cruise wire? can't tell if the servo is there from the pic, also can't see where it connects to the arm on the throttle. Do you have cruise?

MPegler 10-16-2005 04:57 PM

No, no cruise. Thanks though.

Possibly the rear window defroster grid. Does it work? Turn it on and see if it gets hot. If not, maybe up through the tail.

Strip it back and tell us the colors of the wires.

? huh? Looks like coax for cable tv??

Looks like a co-ax cable to me. Probably had a cell phone antenna on the engine lid.

MBAtarga 10-16-2005 05:35 PM

Almost looks like coax - is that a single conductor with a shield? Any - RU xx type marking on the jacket? Maybe it's an old cb/car phone antenna cable?

EDIT:
ARGH! 1 minute too late in posting my comments - which appear to be dead - on, now that you've posted a different picture! That's definitely coax.

MPegler 10-16-2005 05:36 PM

Oh, it's a Cab so no on the rear window defrost.

rattlsnak 10-16-2005 06:00 PM

Thats not a factory wire, so like they said above, its probably from an old cell antenna or such...

MPegler 10-16-2005 06:50 PM

Yup, I agree - cell antenna wire. It's labelled RU-(something), and zip-tied to the engine lid support. I'm gonna get rid of it.

Thanks for the help.
