Terbatol oil cooler protection
I bought a terbatol cooler last spring from another Pelican and am about to mount it on my SC. This cooler looks pretty stout, strong box with thick fins on the tubes. Do I need to protect it with a carrera cooler type splash guard or not. Any thoughts or been there before experiences. This a daily driver vehicle.

Same with mine as Ronin said. The tubes themselves are pretty sturdy, and the fins are not just thin aluminun. Porbably don't dissipate heat as well, either, but small stones don't seem to hurt the Turbotrol.

Agreed, the Turbotrols are pretty rugged and hold up well in the harsh wheel well environment w/o any extra protection

Thanks guys, this is what I needed to know. My SC will be happier now even with the onset of winter, maybe I can get the temps down to 190 from 210. Now just have to fab up some mounting hardware.

Where do you buy a "turbotrol"?

I have a stainless steel screen protecting mine. It's more open than the factory piece, but it keeps the rubber marbles out of the cooler.

I paid $495 for the cooler & install kit in 2/99 from them direct. I'd call Pelican 1st and see about a special order, which they do provide.
