Ah yes, the money loser. The machine shop I had make those for me lost money on them. I had to sell them at a loss to get rid of them although the buyers liked them and people are still asking about them. They were overdesigned and hard to make leading to failure.

I've not seen that style but have one of the Pelican ones that fits to the front of the seat base. Nice simple design and unobtrusive

THe one that attaches to the Pelican seat rail works very nicely, best money (besides engine and transmission rebuild) that I spent on my car.

I had a center console armrest with a slide-out cup holder. Worked well.

so in the interim of deciding which direction to go with more rugged cup holder, I had ordered this from Amazon a few days back and it showed up today. I figured I'd take a flyer and see if this thing would work in my '85 911. Guess what? It does, pretty much perfectly. Glove box closes fine and the backside nestles up nicely against the knee rail, giving it firm supporting point. I will likely put a small felt bumper pad to reduce any scratching potential. But if anyone is needing a cheap-o solution, you might want to try this.

What was the asking price, if you don't mind me asking?

I think the retail was about 75 or 80 bucks.

I just open up the "map compartments" on the arm rests and wedge them in there. Never failed for me.

Works great. Seriously. Plus could come in handy for a roadside repair!
