Why 4 wheels are better than two
I used to dream about owning a motorcycle....carving through the canyons. Then I'd think about what would happen if I wiped out.
Ouch I'm glad that owning a 911 has satisfied my need for speed Check out the sequence in this link: http://www.killboy.com/ |
been there, done that - it's still plenty fun.
When the 3.6 is in I can compare the two, but I don't think the car will beat the bike with its 0-60 in 3 seconds! Of course the trade off is I never take a passenger on the bike, and the car will have a nice passenger seat :-) |
I'll take my chances. Even though the car is fun, when you're on two wheels there's nothing like it. :)
|
Cant quite explain it, but 2 wheels is bliss, you have to ride lots to understand :)
suzuki sv-650 |
I am like scared $hitless to whack the throttle on the Duc. Nothing and I mean nothing can compare :)
|
My car is 4 wheeler, but I would like to run in 2 wheels only. I have try it and never result it. I would like some kind of wheelie!!!
Yahoooooooooo!!! |
911 to sport bike...different kind of feeling all together on a bike. I down graded to a smaller sport bike for insurance reasons but, it still screams with the mods and fuel inj.... I love it. Still...The 911 is fun ... beats driving some big old (new) chevy impala company car that they give us to drive.

There is nothing, NOTHING that can compare to the feeling of a good sportbike on clean and curvy blacktop. And to match the power/weight, all you need is about $.5million in exotic automobile and "maybe" you can keep up ;)
Oh well, gone are those 2-wheel days for me. But the tradeoff was getting my dreamcar ...I think I did well :D Edward |
I've had a couple of dozen bikes and am on my second Porsche. The Porsche is the only car that comes close to the freedom and excitement of a Motorcycle.
Current MC stable includes a Honda Magna V4 750 and a Porsche-like Honda Valkyrie flat-6 1500. Both would leave most cars in the dust of the line, and they are both really comfortable on long rides. Plus the mileage on either is upwards of 45 (as long as I stay out of the throttle......) 750 Magna: 4 carbs - 86 hp - 505 lbs....... http://s93795793.onlinehome.us/magna/magna2.JPG 1500 Valkyrie - 6 carbs - 100 hp - 750 lbs..... http://s93795793.onlinehome.us/magna/valk.JPG 1980 Porsche SC Targa - Injection - 172 hp - 2756 lbs....... http://s93795793.onlinehome.us/porsche/80_1.jpg You can do the math on the power to weight ratio. :D |
I currently ride an '05 Suzuki GSXR1000 and drive an '88 911 turbo and both make me shake and smile about the same when available horsepower is called upon. To me, the 911 is about as close to a motorcycle as any four wheeled vehicle can be.

I'm not a moto fan, but I have to admit, this picture just rocks...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1129723877.jpg I had a "moped" when I was younger. As often as I spilled that, I'd have to say it's a good thing I never moved up to "real" bikes. I learned at an early age that I need four wheels and a lot of metal around me. :p |
I am probably missing the point on account of my poor English - otherwise - Killboy, what a premature choice of name...

My current fast ride is more torque monster than "fast" top end bike. 1998 Buell S1 White Lightning 1203cc stock 95-100 hp at the crank. Hot-rodded by me and now dynos at 110 at the rear wheel. Makes very loud rumbling noises and with its low center of gravity and mass centralization allows me to spank most sportbike riders in the local twisties...of course at anything above 130 the rice bikes go zooming by...but that’s just fine with me :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1129725814.jpg |
Yep...if you've got the nads to go full throttle over 8000 RPM on a modern sportbike...the 911's are just good (even on the track), but they just don't have the special sumthin' sumthin'! Seems like you're always waiting for something to happen when you are pedal to the floor in a car....one that doesn't cost more than my house anyway. On a bike, you crack the throttle and speed and the hand of death whacks you in the back and there ain't no waiting :D
I love my 911's, and I love the faster 911s even better, but I just gotta have my two-wheel rush :D http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1129726348.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1129726359.jpg |

But Pål, are the poor babies still freezing outside ??:p
|
I am still using them both :D I am still looking for a good garage to rent in Stockholm - if I can not find one, I will just have to drive them down to you, for storage in your garage :D

Wow :(
Hay Goran, is your offer to look at my car still open?? |
Paul: I'm going on bussines trip next week. We could arrange something for next tuesday? (1:st November)
