2001 911 Turbo - $59,900!!!

How low will they go? How much lower before you guys start jumping ship for one? Helluva car for the money I'd say.

Pretty sweet, Richard. I agree with you whole heartedly. I'll probably be picking up a new (to me anyway) Porsche in a year or so and am considering a 996TT since I can pick one up used for about the same price as a brand new Cayman.

Can someone loan me about $58,900 please? That is sweet looking car. DC Motors has some great stuff. I used to drive by there every day on my way to work and another reason I ended up with my P-car.

A used car buyers dream: A car thats fresh out of warranty and cost a boat load to work on. Probably cheaper to lease one for a few years and have it still covered.

Are you kidding me? I love my 3.2 but even I'll admit, the only reason I dont have this 2001 911TT is because I don't have $59,000 right now.

That's the most miles I've ever seen on a 996 turbo (72K), but the car is extremely clean judging by the pics. Either way, these cars are bomb proof and I don't think a buyer will have alot of problems and the expense is worth it.

I love my Porsche and everything Porsche stands for. But here goes, Take your $59,900 and add maybe $10K and buy a brand new Z-06 Corvette with either the 400 HP or 500 HP motor.
I've been watching them in stock form eat up the 400 HP turbo Porsches at our local 1.66 mile 14 turn twisty little track at 5,000 feet.
Corvettes doing 1:30's, Porsches doing 1:32's. Both skilled drivers in STOCK models.
Now I'm not saying the Corvettes will live forever like our Porsches but they sure are putting on a show around here.
I'm now in my fire suit, blast away.

Uh oh. I have a bad feeling about the direction this thread is heading.

No kidding. Just look at each car's "upbringing". The Porsche has gotten heavier and longer and the Vette's gotten more lean and shorter.

Given all that, I'll still drive a Porsche over a Vette. That's not saying I wouldn't own one. Just isn't my preference.

I've never driven a 996 and certainly not a 996 Turbo , but for less than $40K one could build a car that can beat a 996 Turbo or a ZO6 any day. I've done it! And it is even an aircooled 911

Now, that's not to say the 996 Turbo or ZO6 are bad cars, nor that I wouldn't want one of each in my garage, but since I can't afford to play with the big dawgs...I sneak my way in

And that's probably why some folks won't be "jumpin ship" any time soon. Affordability. Even at 59K a lot of us still can't afford to play with you more fortunate sugar daddies . So we toil with our sub-$20K (or sub-$30K) cars and try to make them as fast as they'll go w/o blowing up

Sooner or later the 3.2 Carrera will be the most expensive P-car you can buy..

I agree, its a lot of car for the money. I have a friend with a GT2 in perfect condition with the carbon option interior and he can't GIVE it a way, even at $115k. Within a few years, there will be some very good deals out there on these cars.

I bought my 930 from these guys after much looking. Everything on the lot is clean. They sell mostly to ferrari and lambo guys out of the OC. They thought it was funny that the porsche guys will come look at a car 4-5 times and have a ppi performed prior to purchase. Said the Ferrari/Lambo guys just drive by and decide to purchase. Story goes that some doctor almost purchased my turbo for his 16 year old daughter. She didn't like the stiff clutch so got a boxter instead.
