I am fitting a 6 speed to my '89.....I have a G50/20 lying in my garage.....will it's measurements help you?
In addition to removing the nose piece mounting muffin, I need to remove about 65 mm of its length to fit...figure about 28 mm from the bell housing, 25 mm from using up clearance and move the engine back 10 mm.....eeeeehhhhhaaaaaa! Dennis

yep. From end to end, after shortining it as much as you can, how long is it?

The length that it can be shortened to, excluding the shift rod shaft which would be a bit longer, is 70.8 cm. After trimming the bell housing, it should be 68 cm long.

Oh yes, does anyone have a length measurement for a conventional 5 speed G50 (as installed in the 88/89 911 Carrera's?
Thanks in advance... Dennis
