Question My First Tune-Up (78SC 3.0 Euro)

Before our cold Chicago winter comes.....

Tom wants to do his FIRST tune-up on his 78SC euro.

1. I have Wayne's book, and will be following.
2.My Bentley Manual is shipping and should be here by Friday.

I'm a very "checklist" type of guy, and love the feeling when following a sequence of steps within a list and it all works out!!!

In ADDITION to Wayne's book, what do you recommend are the best resources when doing a first tune up??

I plan to do the full tune-up: plugs, wires (got the red Magnacores), upper and lower valve covers, distributor, rotors etc.

Any "checklist" type of advice would be much appreciated!

I was told to visit Rennlist in a PM -- but couldn't find anything specifically related to an SC 3.0 tuneup checklist...

Tom,

I can make a short list for you. There isn't much to really go overboard about. Heck, I just park my car, and take it out now and then or just start it up in the garage and play like I'm at the track while wearing my helmet

Thanks Souk -- I'd love a list.

My wanting to do the tune-up is twofold, I just got the SC 2 months ago, and am finding many of the "extras" the owner said had been done, really were not. Second, I'm all about tuning to get ultimate performance.

I have good experience with tuning my 91MR2 with the 3S-GTE Turbo (Toyota CT-26)...so, I might start talking to you about a turbo for my SC3.0!

Every Chicago Pelican needs a winter project right????

HA.....My MKII Mister2 Turbo is flawless... But Matt Smith beat you!

He was over 3 weeks back (I think with *your* dog-eared Bentley manual -- I've since ordered my own) and was helping with an on-going electrical problem I'm still experiencing.

When do you want to take a look?? - I just have to clear it with the wife so the kids are accounted for...

-Tom
(Thinking he should video the entire encouter so as not to miss the knowledge that I will get about P-cars)
