Idler Arms

I'm contemplating the idler arm upgrade to my '77 and I have a couple of questions as to what I can do:

Idler arms: do the upgraded idler arms use spacers like the earlier style? The same spacers or different ones?

Will my 930 style mechanical tensioner work with the upgraded idler arms without any needed modification or machining?

As you might have guessed, I'd like to upgrade my idler arms and still use the current mechanical tensioners with collars?

Thanks.

Scott,

It is not clear what tensioners you have ... factory tensioners were never 'mechanical!' If you have spacers in place, now, then you have the 1980.5 tensioners that were designed for use with the double-bushing idler arms ... just take off your tensioners, spacers, and idler arms and install the new idler arms.

Sorry, yes they are the 1980.5 tensioners (93010505300). By mechanical I meant non pressure-fed.

So, the double-bushing idler arms use no spacers??

Thanks for the info., it's a big help navigating through this upgrade.
