storage question

I will probally remove the entire ac system from my SC this winter. It works as well as can be expcted but we all know how that goes. I would rather save weight. I have no intentions of ever re-installing it but I want to keep all the parts and need to store them in working order.
What I am thinking is some type of vacum storage system so the parts will always be ready for re-use. I am one of those all origional type of people and won't change the car if I can't put it back.
I have acces to shrink wrapping but I want something better.
Any thoughts?

Almost a shame to do this to a 1yr. old compressor but...........oh well

The Receiver-Drier will be trash no matter how careful you are. The rest just pack away somewhere dry.

If you ever want to re-install it, buy a new R/D, charge the system, run it & see what happens.

Its as simple as that.

I might also suggest that the hoses attached to your compressor are PROPERLY capped, not just wrapped with a plastic bag and elastic bands. If you're thinking about years without the A/C hooked up invest in some fittings to plug the ends. See if a local A/C service centre can get you something that can be screwed on. There will be much less risk of dust and dirt getting into your system that way. I've heard tell that compressors really don't care for that sort of thing!
Of course. if you are removing EVERYTHING from stem to stern this won't apply.
