Jeff,
There is no such model as a 68E. The L is the mid model option for 68.

Thanks Bob,

I know for sure it isn't an S, so the T is the lower hp model right? This thing must be a L. this guy is splitting up with his wife, so I am thinking about getting it. This half hearted selling thing's been going on for almost 2 years. Now he's must unload it. What do you think an avarage runs like that runs?

Rust is the big question. Figure out where the rust is, and it's there unless it's been recently restored, and take it from there. '68s have unique parts that are hard to find if needed but there are experts here that might coment on that. Mr. Tilton has a very, very cool '68, listen to what he says. Get a PPI and check for rust carfully, under 10K might be a good deal.

Hmmmm...Jeff, based on the limited info I would say under 10k is a decent starting point for a car with decent paint, no rust, and good compression on engine.
The later flares might be a turn off for some because of the short wheel base model but there is a damn fine 68 with huge flares in gulf blue and orange that will change people's mind. Sounds like the start of an early hot rod!
Keep the following big ticket items in mind:
paint job $5-$7K
engine rebuild $7K
tranny rebuild $2k
If the above are done then that 68 could sell for around $18K.
I paid $8500 for my L six years ago and did all the above and then some.
Get the chasis and engine number for us. Someone here will be more than happy to ck on it for you. Keep us posted - we're here to help.
