Removing steering column

I've taken just about everything out of the car to send it to get media blasted, except the steering column. Searched the archives but didn't find it either.

Does anyone know if I have to cut/brake the weld on the nut inside the trunk to loosen the 3rd bolt on the steering column? The other side of the bolt is round, I've tried using pliers without success.

Thanks for the help.

Try soaking with PB, heat, and use good vise grips. If that doesnt work, consider a nut/bolt extractor from Sears/Matco.

Thank you both for the info... I was able to remove the bolt by grinding away the edges with a dremmel so I could get a set of vicegrip pliers on the bolt and I used a needle nose visegrips to turn it.

As you can see I also tried by cutting the center of the bolt and tried to turn it with a screwdriver but no luck.

Attached is a pic..
