Lexan side windows?

I posted before on this but never did get anywhere with it...I want to install some lexan windows and need a source to purchase them. I need them for the driver and passenger door, the style I am looking for is the one that does not move up or down, but instead has the small slider window.

The back quarters and rear window source would be a bonus.

I haven't ordered from them yet but it looks like they have what you're looking for.

How does this work.

http://www.gt-racing.com

They have some. Door window slider for the pair are 435 big ones. And the rear quarter windows are 95 dollars a pair. For solid ones and I think they have slotted windows too. The also have the rear window it is 295.

Here is the link to the catalog where I found this stuff. Don't know if it will work though.

Now if I ever get to europe do I get to go on a ride around the ring?

K9, just buy a sheet of lexan, trace patterns from your glass windows and cut your own!

thanks guys....Tim who sells lexan sheets? What glue would I use on the slider rails? I know...too many damn stupid questions.

Rich...sure enough, I am from Colorado so a trip to the ring is a go if you get over this way.

Look in a phone book under "plastics". Lexan is actually a polycarbonate, but one companies trademark name "Lexan" is commonly used. With lexan, you would probably need to use fasteners to attach accesories.

Acrylic (plexiglass) works well also and is cheaper and more scratch resistant (plexiglass will break when impacted though, so it might not be as "safe" to use next to your head!). Plexiglass can be bought at any home improvement store. Plexiglass can be bonded to itself with a special solvent (it actually melts to itself). Plexi can be cut and drilled, but it is more succeptable to cracking if the wrong drill bits are used or edges are not sanded smooth.

I have used both for aircraft windshields. Plexi is cheaper and lasts alot longer before scratching. Lexan is strong but will start accumulating scratches the first time you wash it (literally).

Just my 2 cents.

Lexan windows

I have a pair of Spektr lexan sliding windows. They work well except there is no locking mechanism on the slider itself. I think you could probably make a pair yourself from Lexan, just make sure it's the same thickness as the glass you replace.
