Yes, another power window question from a noob
 

I've been reading the posts on other power window issues and have a good idea of the things I can check, but let me tell you the sequence of events, and if you can tell me where to start that would be great! First I will need to check the fuses.

Windows worked great last night. Put the windows up and parked the car.

Later on I went into the garage openned thd drivers door and was looking at the area a the top of the fender on the inside, the space where the jamb of the door meets the jamb of the front fender (you know where the hindges mount). If you follow the space up to the top behind the rear view mirror there was a bit of surface rust where there was a wiring loom and a black sheath of wires. I scraped in there and repaired the rust on that inner fender area. In the process of scraping I moved that wire a little. I'm not sure what this wire goes to yet, and it may or may not have anything to do with the windows.

Got in the car this moring and no switches work on the windows, none of the three.

I have an '86 Coupe.

My guess would be that when scraping, you nicked the wire insulation or the wire insulation was brittle and when you moved it exposed bare wire. It is probably contacting the door metal and blowing a fuse. I would start at the place where you moved the wire.
